By default, your site’s emails (contact forms, customer sign-ups, password recovery) are sent from the edeck.me server. If you set up your own mail server (SMTP) here, they go out from your account: they arrive with your address and are less likely to end up in spam.

Setting it up

1. Set Active to “Yes”.
2. Fill in the details your email provider gives you:
   • Host: the outgoing server (for example smtp.yourprovider.com).
   • Port: usually 587 (TLS) or 465 (SSL).
   • User: almost always your full email address.
   • Password: that account’s password. If your provider uses two-step verification (Gmail, Outlook…), create an app password and use that.
3. Click Update and send a test form from your site.

The password is stored encrypted. If you change your email password, update it here or emails will stop going out.
